The agreement between you and us, kept short.

What this service is
anxietrees is a web application that walks you through a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy technique called a Worry Tree, and keeps a record of the trees you write so you can look back over them. It is a self-guided tool. You use it on your own, at your own pace.
What this service isn't
anxietrees is not a medical service, not therapy, and not a crisis line. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or monitor any health condition, and nothing it shows you is medical advice. It is a self-help tool only, and it is not a substitute for care from a GP, therapist, or other qualified professional. If something it suggests doesn't feel right for you, please talk to a professional rather than acting on it.
If you are in crisis, worried about your safety, or thinking about harming yourself, please don't rely on anxietrees. Use the support resources at the foot of every page on this site, or call 999 if there is an immediate risk to life.
Accounts
Signup is open and free. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for what happens under your account, so please use a password you don't use elsewhere and let us know if you think someone else has access. You should be 18 or older to create an account.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app, and doing so removes the trees you've written. We may suspend or close an account if it is used in breach of these terms, or where we reasonably need to in order to protect the service or other people; where it's practical to do so, we'll tell you why.
Acceptable use
Please use anxietrees only for its intended purpose. You agree not to: access it through automated means or scrape it; resell, rent out, or commercially exploit it; work around rate limits or other technical restrictions; probe, attack, or try to disrupt the service or its security; impersonate someone else; or use it to break the law or to harm others.
Liability
anxietrees is provided "as is" and "as available". We've built it with care, but we can't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of errors, and we make no clinical claims about it. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales. If you use anxietrees as a consumer, your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, this does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the service or to the law. If a change is significant, we'll give you reasonable notice before it takes effect — through the app or by email — and update the date at the top of this page. If you carry on using anxietrees after a change takes effect, that counts as accepting the updated terms. If you don't agree to a change, you can delete your account.
